LET GO OF YOUR WORRIES
If there is one practice that has helped me over the last few months to get back to life with a renewed sense of hope, it's letting go.
If there is one practice that has helped me over the last few months to get back to life with a renewed sense of hope, it's letting go. Letting go of the fears of the past, my disappointments, my sadness, my struggle. What happened in the past can’t be fixed but learned and moved on from.
Clearing out the debris of the past helped me ease some of my emotional burden and create some space for new things to happen. From thinking, feeling, hoping, and dreaming about a life that was, I moved to finding my own strength, my own courage, my own potential to live life fully.
When I started thinking about this theme, I immediately recalled this piece by Jalaluddin Rumi that I absolutely loved and that speaks about letting go and being true to yourself in the simplest of words. I couldn’t have thought of a better piece to get this series started!
"Let go of your worries and be completely clear-hearted, like the face of a mirror that contains no images. If you want a clear mirror, behold yourself and see the shameless truth, which the mirror reflects. If metal can be polished to a mirror-like finish, what polishing might the mirror of the heart require? Between the mirror and the heart is this single difference: the heart conceals secrets, while the mirror does not."
I wish you all the power and luck in this process of letting go. And remember, you are way more than what's happened to you in the past or is happening to you in the present! The future is going to be bright, I promise!
